Thank you very much! That's all I needed to know to start

I will try to get a better picture later without the chicken wire...but I wanted to post a couple pictures of one of my best roos and get your thoughts. He is 11 weeks old, so there will still be changes. I am not set on this roo yet (I do have 10 more as well) but I definitely think he'll be in the top. I do know that I have some coloring issues...but hopefully I can work on them.

What coloring issues do you think you have?.. He's to young yet to make a decision as to what he's going to look like once he matures some more. But he does look like hes going to turn out decent.

What does the hens look like out of this group also?

Although I would see what others on here have to say about type and such. Their "eye" for that is much better then mine.

I thought that there was too much smut on his back. Will that go away? I hope he does turn out pretty good!

I will put together another video in the next few days so you can see the hens as well (I think you can tell more by the videos than you can the pictures).

Personally, and this is just my opinion, I would not even be looking at the "color," or the smut. Look at the "type." Look for the bowl shape. Look at the size of the skull. Look at the width between the legs. Those are the things I look at. I had a cockerel growing out that I was so looking forward to seeing grow. He was stolen. Anyway, he had terrible color, but I sure loved his type.

Kathy...you were hit, too? We've had a bunch stolen in the last few weeks. I'm SO sorry to hear you've had a problem too. I'm pretty well out of the breeding game, for any of the breeds I had.

Well, I suppose it is my own fault. I had several people here for "free chickens." I specifically said this one rooster was not going. Once they had all left, I noticed he was gone too. I think I know who took him. I emailed the person with a photo, but have never heard back.

Nicole, So sorry to hear you have lost birds to thieves. That is just low.

Nella, Just run a "free chickens," ad.

I think you have the right idea...

Wow... people stealing chickens??... I'm afraid if I caught someone stealing any of mine... well.. lets just say it wouldn't end pretty. Though I will say, I have many neighbors who also raise animals, so anyone "not supposed to be" in the area has many eyes on them, more then they likely realize..

Edit:

Kathy,

How old was that bird before he "walked off"???..
