My Dellies are really enjoying foraging in my pumpkin patch. So far, they appear to be simply scratching through the dirt around the plants. Hopefully they are just eating bugs and weeding. The pumpkins are still small and green.
I try to make a little money by selling the heirloom pumpkins in a pick your own patch. So, I don't want the pumpkins damaged. Do you think that the chickens will start pecking and/or eating the pumpkins after they ripen? If so, I need to relocate the chickens, but I hate to do that if they are only eating the bugs.
