She's a great old soul, I can't wait to go get her. But got to do the legal thing first and that Animal center ROCKS in the level of care it provides.
We're in the process of starting a 501 c 3 (non profit) group to build a rescue transportation hub here in Knoxville. Much of what bogs down the rescue and transport system and it's ability to save dogs is the mandatory 2 week quaratine hold for commercial transport to other states. If we can put together a barn, kennels and excercise field, we can save more dogs by being here for accredited rescues to pull dogs to, for overnights, for short and two week transport holds. Sometimes a place to stay over night or for three days, makes the difference between a dog going into foster care or being put down. It's happened too often here, that I just don't have room. So, we have land, we'll make room. We're going to call it The Way Home. Now I just have to put together the fees to file with the state and IRS. Lots of forms but forms I can handle. Seeing a dog put down because I don't have room for three days. That I can't handle. Especially in the livestock guardian breeds so much help is needed now and often quickly as people lose their homes and farms and must move, sometimes with little notice. I have the forms and non-profit book on my lap right now.
