Oh they are so cute! I love to look at fuzzy little Java's too. My Java chicks this time around are white Java's. My Mottles are almost fully feathered.

Your Dellies are so cute!!! Mine are jumping out of the bator to get held!!! I posted my pix over at my other thread...but I'll cross post them so you can see some Tacey. I keep wanting to put an R in your name!!!!

Here you can see a white Java in the center, and the Splash Orpington top left (Who is a girl!!!).

Notice the two Dellies in love in the background.

Please excuse the mess in the brooder, but you know how new chicks can be, as fast as you clean it, they mess it.

I was in the co-op today and they had their red hybrids, black sexlinks and leghorn chicks in....they were so cute. The store floor person tried to tell me I could not reach in and touch them. I said "yeah okay" and continued to rub this adorable little black sexlink with my thumb....it was so curious about me, was looking up at me and sitting there so sweetly. Floor person again told me I cuold not touch them and it irritated me so I ask her what the punishment was if I did not listen to her. She said "uh well uh hmmmm i will get my manager" I told her to get walking and find the manager and continued to pet the little cutie pie.

Never did see her or the manager again. I almost stuck that little thing in my purse.

Soooo cute Laney! Your white Javas, are they the sooty grey chicks?
Thank you for not putting a "R" in my name. Most people don't even take the time to really look. I get called Tracey a lot! I doesn't bother me much. I am so used to it.

Cetawin- that was funny! I just imagine it. If I were the sales asociate, I wouldn't know what to say. I would probably laugh, because it is a dumb rule.

It's really hard for me because my sister is Tracy, and it was my great grandmothers last name. I also had friends named Tracey and Tracie in my teens. But since people butcher my last name all the time I'm sympathetic. It's Rigby, but here in the south they always want to add in an S and call us Rigsby........

I absolutely love the Javas. They do have this mischievous personality. They are also really good at communicating. If there isn't any feed in the feeder, or something just isn't right they are the first ones to let you know. I really think they mix so well with the Delawares. With the Delawares being so social with humans, and the Java's being so good with the survival instincts they tend to live very well together and they don't bother each other.

The white Java's are the greyish chicks with th black tinting on the legs and/or beaks. The greyish tinted chick with no black on the leg or beak is a Splash Orpington. I was so shocked the first time I hatched the white Javas. I buy the eggs from the supermarket, Whole Foods, in Cary NC. Highland Farms from nearby in NC sells to them and I happen to know they breed Black and White Javas. Well they Breed Black Javas and get the occasional White. So far all of their eggs have hatched out whites for me. Unfortunately all have been Hens. They won't breed true with a Mottled....I'd get a black or a Mottled I believe? The white is super recessive.

Now.... back to your regular Delaware programming
