Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Cetawin, go back and get that chick! My neighbor's two sex links are now officially mine, and they are a hoot! Yack, yack, yack- very friendly and one of them is really beautiful- huge and plump and looks like she has eyeliner- they got stuck in my barn during the December snow storm and couldn't get home. By the time the snow melted enough for them to get down the hill and through the woods, they had switched gears, so my neighbor said to keep them.

Tacey and Laney- the pictures are adorable. I love the Splash Orp, Laney. If she is missing some morning, look for tire tracks headed west out of your place!

Tacey, yay! You are now official!

Good morning, and I mean GOOD- more sunshine and warmer temps all week! I think I fill finally get rid of the snow! Hope you all have a good day.

It was in the upper 50's yesterday, maybe even low 60's and I let my less-than-four-week-old babies outside. They had quite a time! Dutch kept hanging around the pen, acting like he wanted in with them. I'd have let his dad, Hawkeye, in because he was so sweet with the little ones, but not 100% sure about Dutch. He does have several of his own kids in there, maybe he knew it.

A proud papa- I have always wondered if the males of ANY kind- horse, dog, cat, chicken, could figure out their own children. Bet your babies had a great time-

Morning everyone!

I let the girls out yesterday to free range in the yard, the weeds and grass had grown up about half a foot tall because of all the rain we've had lately. They loved it. I took lots of pictures, I'll get those up later, gotta get ready for work.

Oh, Cyn sent my eggs. YAY! Thank you so much Cyn!

Question for the pros, how long should I let the eggs settle upon arrival?

I've only gotten shipped eggs twice. I've let them settle a minimum of 12 hours both times. I got better results when I let them settle 24 hours.

I'm so excited for you, I can't wait to read all about your hatch! Wait until you see your eggs, you start counting the days until the hens from your hatch start laying eggs too!

The P.O. I go to, which is less than 4 miles from my house, is actually in NC. They changed their already short hours and don't open until 9 a.m. When DH told them we prefer to send things through there rather than the one in Mineral Bluff because those go through Atlanta (not pretty sometimes), he was told that now, many things that used to go through Atlanta now go through Albany, GA! What the heck? We're so far up in GA, we are at the NC line, but packages from my town go almost into Florida and take an extra day, of course. So, yet another reason not to send anything through a GA P.O. I'm afraid they'll close this little P.O. near me soon, it's so tiny. Then, I'd have to drive 14 miles into Murphy, NC or 16 or so miles into Copperhill, TN to mail a package.
Jeremy, let me know when they arrive. Both phone numbers you gave me are on a bright yellow sticker on the top of the box, so hopefully, they'll actually call you.
