Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Isn't that the truth! Quite a kinship we have with each other and our birds!

I have my special ones, and I also have the ones that I just love watching grow and mature. The only hatchery stock I still have are my 3 little Easter Egger gals, and they are super sweet and oh so special! My plan is to put them in with the Blue Marans, for some Olive Eggers. They may go there today, since I made all the moves yesterday and forgot to move them.

My group one Delawares are my sweet ones. Group two are the biters (2 of them), with 2 sweet girls. Now waiting to see how group three turns out. I am happy to have a great pool to choose my breeders from.

Remember, even Isaac bit me a couple of times at about 14 weeks old. Since it was before raging hormones stage, we were able to nip it in the bud (pardon the pun). He hasn't bitten me since and lets me pet him all the time, even asks for it.

Cetawin ..... this snow ..... OMG, more than we have had all year! I have one foot of snow on my steps! Good news is that the forcast calls for 50s the next 2 days. Yeah, good news.... more mud! LOL

I have to go outside and get some pictures of my breeder pens to show ya. I was gonna wait until I had them all painted up nice, but heck, I'll do before and after pictures.

Cyn, I am hoping this biting thing is only temporary because one of the biters is a top contender for breeder spot #1, if he gets his act together. If not, his position will be temporary. I am so bad ... I still have 5 roosters from group one. I know I have to let them go, but I really like that lot. I have a couple people interested, so I guess I will just wait until they decide for sure.

Good morning all.

I'm candling tonight for the first time, I've gotta go buy a super strong flashlight after work. I originally planned on candling yesterday evening but then I realized I didn't have anything to candle with! Whoops...

Kathy, just how many boys do you have? L0L. I want to see your breeder pens! I'm thinking about building a smaller coop/run for breeding later this year (after I get my main coop built.) but I don't have any clue as to what it'll turn out like. That's still waaay down the road. But I am a visual learner,

I'm really excited about the BBS Orps Cyn, I'm hoping they're developing too.

I've only had Buffs up until now, but I love them. I want to add some Blues to the mix! I ordered 8 more Buffs from a hatchery, they're due to be in sometime in the next couple of days (with a whole slew of others... heh.) so whatever Blue pullets I hatch out will replace the Buffs if need be.

I only had room to set 3 of Smoky's eggs and 3 of Dusty's, wouldn't it be funny if I got 1 Blue, Black and Splash from each girl?

I have Delawares boys up the wazoo! I have 5 left from group one, and 8 from group two. Will have to wait and see on the group three lot of 22! I just refuse to let go of them too soon, so I can see what they are like!

Breeder pens .... I will do pictures tomorrow. Running low on time today, as I had unexpected guests and I have to go to work. My building is 33 foot long and 14 foot wide. I made pens on each side, with an isle to walk through. Six of them are about 8' x 5' each (two are 8' x 7'). 40 square feet minimum for each. I hope to finish the rest of the pop doors and runs next weekend. I hope to keep 8 hens and 2 roos in each, but may only have 1 roo in each, and have the "reserve," roosters in a bachelor's pad. I'm undecided on that.

No kidding...I was ready to fly to Atlanta and walk to your neighbor's house and beat him senseless when I heard him shooting towards your property. OMG there would have been no saving him if he had hit Suede.
