Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Isaac's tail had a perfect angle then his longer, half-white feather grew in and it sits higher than it should, so overall, I think his tail set is a smidge high, but he sure produces handsome kids. And I am hoping he passes on his sweet, easygoing temperament to all his sons. Couldn't ask for a better rooster.

So far Isaacs to boys have great temperments but they are the youngest and tend to get pushed around. They are fast and smart though and have managed to stay out of the bossier ones ways.

They have great color and are finally starting to fill in and I think they will surpass the other roos in size. I don't know, but it is my guess from looking at the breadth of their backs.

They are very handsome Cynthina!

No, I don't have any older birds from Jesse. At one time, I did have some from another breeder but eventually culled them because they just didn't grow out as nice as they should have. The pics I posted are of both mine and Jesse's chicks. I'm very pleased with the chicks my flock are producing. Their type is looking great. I can tell, with both mine and Jesse's chicks, that the combs need a little work. But heck, I'll take the blockhouse body type and sweet temperament over a few minor comb issues any day. Personally, I DO pay attention to combs, but not near as much as body type, wing carriage, leg color, etc. I'm just focusing on producing Delawares that actually look "meaty"...and gorgeous to the eye as well.

Someone
who shall remain nameless (okay, it was Mahonri) posted about me reaching 40K posts. In honor of that, Terrie will bestow a new title upon me and wishes to receive your votes. She is responsible for the current title as well.

Michelle, that is the perfect approach with this breed. After you have fabulous body type, then you can work on combs. We must breed out all these issues with Delawares, including the greenish legs.

Congratulations? On being a blabbermouth?

I think it would be very telling to check out all the threads Ive posted in within the last few years. You'll see that only a very, very small percentage is in RR or Family and the bulk of them are in the actual chicken areas. I'm here for the chickens!
