Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Yard full o' rocks :

Its weather like this that reminds me not to complain too much about our winter weather down here!! I HATE GEORGIA SUMMERTIMES....too blasted hot to do anything outdoors and I'm not an "indoors" kinda guy

Darling it is no better this far North. I go outside very very little during the day after about 10am. It is just to miserable out there.

I am missing Oregon, the mountains and the cooler temps and the LOW HUMIDITY.

PS: Cyn tell Zane to move his butt over because he is not hogging the whole fan while I am there...I want some too.

I refreshed everybody with cooler water, the Dels don't seem to mind the 90 degrees- they are happily digging in under the coop. The Orps are sticking to the shaded areas, and I had a lovely nap on the porch. I do hope the whole summer is not like this- but at least here in the mountains, the nights cool down and the mornings are lovely- not to remind you of Oregon, Cetawin.

You'll be here in ten days and then you'll have some cooler nights, sweetie.

I think the heat is getting to some of the hens. Olivia, sweet and on-her-death-roost Livvie, jumped her sister, Tux today and trounced her for some reason. I couldn't believe my eyes! Livvie and Tux never fight, ever!

aaaaawwwwww Livvie is dying and she does not feel well...poor girl just took it out on Tux. Was Tux getting close to her and possibly making her more hot and uncomfy? Those poor dear girls.

Cooler nights you say...you got mosquito spray and a lawn chair? I will just sleep out in the yard. LOL Hot flashes and this weather are making me danged cranky!

We are meeting Scott for dinner Thursday night in or around Lexington. DH has heard me talk about him and his family so much he is looking forward to meeting him.

On a side note, Not Dellie related....Cheyenne messed up again and DH literally snapped her PSP in half! Oh what fun teenage girls are ..... NOT

On a Dellie note...guess what Thor and Cannonball did today? They decided it was hot enough so they both jumped into the duckie pool.

Thor was standing there about top of thigh deep and Cannonball floating beside him. I say floating in that the water was up to her crop.

These birds are gonna be the death of me. Them standing in the duckie pool...ducks playing in a huge mud puddle in the ROAD in front of the house.

I will get some of those mosquito repellent incense sticks and we shall have a night out at the picnic table, or try anyway.

Hug Scott for me--he hasn't visited me in awhile.

Cheyenne has a good stepdad. She's a lucky girl, though today, she may not realize it.

I shall give him a big hug for you. I am thinking since he wants to see the place in all its disarray, I may actually cook dinner for him here....dunno we'll see how the plans go.

I know she has a good one...it just broke my heart to see her so upset and hurt....I mean she was really floored. She never thought he would actually destroy it or the IPOD...I warned her about his follow through. Ah the drama of teenagers.

I sure am glad my only child (4 years old) is a boy! I have always heard that boys are easier...so you folks just reaffirmed that for me. I know my boy was SUPER easy as a baby.

If anyone is coming my way up north to escape the horrid heat...here ya go:

Have a wonderful day everyone. I'm going back to bed to suffer through this stomach bug yet another day. I really need to clean some brooders, but just the smell of chicken poo makes me yak.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be well enough to get them done.

Shelleyb- I hope you feel better soon!

If ya'll need an escape from the heat, I have a hanging bed on the screened in porch, with two ceiling fans.

My favorite room in the spring, summer and fall.

I made Lizzie a HUGE pen under the maple tree in the U of the regular run. It is not covered, but she has the dog crate to jump into, and I will trust the Lord on this- it's just too hot to keep her in the brooder while I am at work.
