That narrows it down to the corn and or scratch, thank you Kathy! I have Dels in the incubator so Urbanfarmboi, get ready for those baby pictures in a few weeks.

I culled down the girls to only the 5 best and whitest. No smut. Then I culled to only nice big eggs. We will see what pops out! I can't wait for these sweeties.

I don't know about everyone else but my Dels even the ones who are not the right "type" lay the best, biggest eggs in the most adverse weather (100 degrees) 9 out of 10 were laying before I culled. Now I am getting 4 and even 5 out of 5.

I love these birds.

Since I have been working for 3 months my DH has been feeding mine corn, and a once white boy has turned all yellowy now

I don't think it could be the sun, my Dels STAY out in the sun and the only thing that turns them yellow here....is the CORN that I KEEP telling DH to NOT GIVE THEM!!! Oh well, at least he is feeding them daily

He's so sweet...if only his ears worked

thank you, thank you thank you, thank you thank you, thank you thank you, thank you thank you, thank you thank you, thank you

That makes me feel so much better. I will hate not giving them corn, they love it so much. I only give them a little a few times a week but if that is what happens with it then I will find something else they love to eat.

Kathy, are we hatching together.... like old times? I was so burned out and still cringing over the 5 little meaties in the bator right now. But I needed to see if they breed true.

I however have....3 other Genesis full too LOL.. I am sick. Just sick. Addicted.

Did I mention I took 25 birds to the processor this morning? I am going to need more chicken recipes folks.

Germaine ..... Yes, woman, you are sick! Any addiction is an illness ..... HEY, maybe you could claim a disability and get a monthly check in the mail ..... YEAH ..... then you would have more time to work on your projects, AND get paid for it!

I put 25 in the freezer last weekend! YAY! 25 more to go!

LOL Yeah, I know Kathy!

With 20 in the fair and 25 in the refrigerator aging, it was an absolute PLEASURE to go and take care of the birds tonight. There was hardly any work to be done at all.

I really must downsize.

My broody Easter Egger hatched her own 2 eggs. Daddy is a Delaware. She sat on her eggs for 3 weeks in the Layers Coop. Today she kicked everyone out of the coop and they played for awhile. Then she brought them outside for a stroll. Believe me, she is a fierce one ..... everyone stayed away from her!
