Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Kathy... I think I would take my chances with a rhinoceros before I messed with that broody mama. She looks fierce!

ETA: See the resemblance?

Those are precious babies, Kathy, and that mama is something else!

Germaine, try a flock block. I break one up and use it as scratch with the corn scratch from Purina- about 2/3 flock block. Luke is the only one with yellow, and he has less of it since I started that mix, BUT I read somewhere that some white breeds will have strains that yellow.

Mama Hen Chris- what a cute picture! How old is that sweetie?

Afishel- that is a happy pair- I love watching friendships between animals-

I thought that rhino picture was beyond perfect, they both have that same stance and body shape,

Who knew EEs could be so menacining! My girls are so docile.

I have only 3 Easter Eggers. They are the only hatchery stock I kept from my first purchase of chicks over a year ago. All three of my girls are just the sweetest things ever; very friendly. They especially love our dog, and hang out with him often. They share his dog food. This girl is sure a good mama, unlike my last broody that hatched out (Light Sussex who is VERY young).

Here they are waiting at the door of the guest house for treats from my son....

I love that picture- my free ranging girls frequent the ground under the birdfeeder, right next to the cats, who are patiently waiting to pick off the sparrows. I love that no one is afraid of anyone around here!

I will be choosing my breeders for my Delaware pen this next weekend and I'm going to try for some pics of the 2 roos I will be choosing from and on the hens I hope to find 5 that might be good enough. I am happy to have a bunch to use as layers and I've got a buyer for my 10 of my extra pullets.
