Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Well I promised pics. LOL so here are pics of my 10 days short of 7 week olds. And let me tell you the roos already are seeing who is king of the yard. I don't mean chick chest bumping either. One even got a little blood drops around his face. I figure they will settle it.

I'm a lot slow on most things math oriented, but, is 10 days short of seven weeks old the same as almost six weeks old???

Whatever, they are still eye candy.

Beautiful morning here in Northern MI, pen building is again, on the scheddule.

Yea, I don't think good in the morning. LOL Same here with the pen building and fencing.

Those are really nice looking youngsters, eye candy, I am looking forward to the later pics of them !

I am wanting to buy some hatching eggs in July, a dozen anyhow. I have a number of eggs incubating now, but thee gene pool is pretty small, they are kathyinmo older stock. Productive, nice size, but I want to add more genes.

So anyone selling eggs let me know please.

Beautiful first of summer day here and hoping to finish another pen today.

Life goes on.

Going to Lowes today to start building my 6x12 hen house. Then I just need to put up the 64' of wire. YEA!! Sort of getting tried of building. HAHAHA Just want to relax a little. Getting

Ahhh the Delaware thread! Yay! So I think this might be a better place to ask this question... I am starting to question whether my pullet is actually a cockerel... She/he is about 6 weeks (maybe a little older.) I have seen pictures of hens with rather large combs, so I am really confused. It has definitely matured a lot faster than my other birds, but two other breeds of mine haven't been too far behind. It only matters because I can't keep a roo in my area. I LOVE this bird and don't want to have to get rid of it. Thoughts???

I'm thinking Cockeral.

I would not bet one way or the other. I called one he until it was 4 months old. It was bigger with bigger legs, larger comb, larger wattles etc. Then it layed. Sigh ! a girl after all. They sure can fool you.

Ditto, every time I try to make a call when too young I get tripped up. Whichever its a good looking youngster, but, if my life depended on it I would go with cockeral. Wait and see, you have a good one whichever.
