I said I would put up pictures, and I will. We have a blizzard here like no other. We're having our first white christmas in years!! The older girls love the snow, they've only been in it twice, but I make them stay in and out of it! The young birds hate it, they are all piled up in the coop, staying in the nice deep straw and shavings in the nest boxes. Even Legs, my little young Delaware roo, is snuggled in a box with the other two roosters (it was really cute!) until Bologna made him get out. I will get pictures on soon!!

Currently 5 pips, and one, "Noelle," in the brooder with the Marans! 14 hours from pip to pop! I'm hoping those Orps and Meg's baby and Fern's baby make it through without a problem, too!

Jeez, 50's? Lucky chicken... Lol. All my birds that are not in the barn are huddled in the coop with the heat lamp. The wind here got to 50 mph and blew and piece of the wall loose and we worked like heck for an hour to fix it. My poor birds

They are good now though, but jeez, you shoulda seen Rocky and Bologna. They were giving me the stink eye for the longest time. Okay; Heres some pictures I took yesterday and over the summer. (I'm thinking warm thoughts

This was Highness. He was going to be my keeper boy until two other cockerels killed him

They bullied him away from ALL 5 waterers I had in there. I knew I should have kept him separate, but he was young and unhappy away from his mob. Needless to say, I got rid of those two boys lickity split

This was Moose. He died over the summer, and I'm not sure why. He was so healthy and so beautiful, and so loving. I miss him very much. I even called Oreo, Moose, the other day. He gave me a funny look.

This is one of the 10 week, almost 11 week old Del cockerel I have that chik magnet is looking at. (2 weeks ago)

Delgirl ... Nice pictures you have there! How did you get such clear closeups .... boy, I wish I could take a descent photograph!

It is an ice storm currently, and suppose to get 7 - 11 inches of snow tonight. YIKES ! ! ! I just hope I can get home (I'm at work).... DH just called to tell me that we have 2 more babies ... so that makes 3 Delawares out. He noticed 4 more pips.

it's NASTY here, I knew it was coming too, the dogs have been going nuts, now all but Shy the old man loner is under the porch with the heat lamp...I bet there is a cat or 5 in there with them

If it was not going to be so nasty today Sweet Heart would be out with them. While her head will need a little more TLC, that bird is ready for some room. she is going back out in the next few days, you would never think she had been so close to dieing.

Kathy!!!! I meant to comment on that picture earlier! Its so cute!! I can't wait to hatch more, they are just soooooo cute!! Best of luck on getting home and seeing those babies!! And how I get the closeups, I really dont know. I use a digital camera, a little sony one. I just point and shoot

YAY! ! ! I have new Dellies ... so far there are 8 hatched, and more pips! I also have a pip in Meg and Suede's egg. AND, Fern's egg has a pip, too! Sadly though, none of the 4 BBS Orps has a pip yet .... I'm still holding out hope for them, though!
