I'm in the car at Starbucks right now. No you can not all have a Hot Chocolate... I only have the money on the gift card my darling husband got me for Christmas.... otherwise I'd ship them all out.

My eggs came in the mail today, I bought 8+ and 10 beautiful Dellie eggs came! Had to rush out to 2 doc's appts. So all I could do was unpack them, put them in an egg carton tilted at an angle after I checked them for cracks (no cracks). They are beautiful and a variety of sizes.

Pictures later!!!

Mother Hen. the only thing that bird likes are chicks, so I guess she gets to be nothing more then a broody mama once I'm ready for chicks.
I'm goiong to have 4 full size coops

I don't know if I have said so on here, but my mom {

} said I could use her old above ground pool. when she said 18' I was thinking around
idunno.gif
but thats from side to side, my dad just said thats 53' {I'm bad at math} it's around 4' tall. I'm still planing with the help of my brothers, but we are going with hoop coops. There will be one for the layers, two for the Delawares that coop will be butted back to back for heat and such, and it should make hen swapping easyer on the birds as it will be devided with wire, so they will see easy other all the time. I plan to use my 8x8 play house for a broodie coop, gona call it the Broodie House

. I don't know if I'll use any of the pool for the bantams I'm going to get or not.

Sweetheart is still going good, she is much more jumpy then befor though. I'm hoping that once all the swelling gos down and she can see better, she will calm back down.

SDWD is my vote

I fed the older mealworm beetles to the chickens today and guess who was the first and bravest to actually try them??? Yep the Dellies.
The girls went first and then the boys and then the rest started in. We have warrior chickens-not afraid of anything!

Laney What? No Hot Chocolate? WTH is wrong with you woman? Share your bounty with us woman!

Ok, Pepper, Issac's half brother, has REALLY thrown a wrench in things this evening. I was putting the chickens from my "house of blues" back into the coop and locking them up for the night and noticed a LOT of noise coming from Pepper's coop.

His coop is 6ft x 8ft x 8ft tall. Nesting boxes along one wall, roosting posts on the wall opposite the nest boxes and the highest front wall. "Typically" Pepper is on the highest roosting pole along with his "favorite" BO girl, Lil Bit (a small Del pullet) then surrounded by the remaining BOs, a blue rock and a black rock. On the shorter roost across from the nesting boxes are where the hens "way down the pecking order" usually roost.

Well, for some strange reason, Pepper was roosted on the shorter roost tonight, with the "lesser" hens! All the noise was from the girls jockeying for position since he wasn't on the high roost like usual....what a riot. You have never heard such a racket, sounded like a bunch of high school girls fighting. Its dark now and all is quiet. I'm tempted to take a flashlight out there and see who wound up where, but I'm afraid that will just upset everyone all the more.

TOO FUNNY.....

Little changes and EVERYONE gets upset
