My Hatchery Dels are adults now and although they have comb issues I think they don't look too bad. They could be broader and bigger but they are sweeties.
I took pics of the young un's too. There are a few promising ones in there. Cynthia's are still snug and warm in their brooder.

Please ignore the messy pen and feeders. It snowed that morning and it was icy and muddy and the same time.

Germaine, except for the combs, those boys really don't look bad at all! They have decent leg color and wing carriage. Hard to tell, but they appear to be pretty chunky, too.

Rwoman-what Cynthia said!!! The wing carriage looks exactly like the SOP and they have nice, dark tail barring- I think they look really nice- in the first and third pic- is the big white chested bird a del and I just can't see any hackle feathers? Or is that some other splendid creature?

Your young'uns look good- I could swear you were at my house, taking pics of mine, though- we have some twinners!

Thank you! The one Roo seems to have quite a bit of smudge(?) on its back. That is bad right? But they are great. They were always hogging into the pictures I was trying to get and to appease them I had to make sure they got their fair share!

Joletabey the big white one is Rocky my White Rock. He is a big bird! Going to help me out in my home meatie project. I have 4 girls and they are big too. They are quiet birds not inquisitive like the Dels.

I want Cynthia's to grow up quick so I can see if I have any Isaacs! They are just too young to tell much now but they are getting chunky.

Thank you! Honestly I don't remember who I got them from. I guess I shouldn't say "hatchery" because I did get them off Ebay. Where I got them from sounded like a hatchery name!
It was way back and I can't find them now. So I am sorry. I just wanted to help the breed make a comeback and didn't know much then or even about BYC.
I bought a bunch of different ones thinking I was never going to get Speckled Hens (

) and then she asked if I wanted some and the answer was OF COURSE!
Those are the ones I have the highest hopes for. The rest are just my babies.

Yes Kathy it is smut not smudge. Sometimes I just get going rather than think! I have to share the fact that my darling DH smiled at me yesterday and GENTLY said "well, you do realize you have a slight OCD problem?"
I do tend to go overboard on some things and he was referring to the chickens this time. Then he just smiled at my stunned expression (I really had never given myself that tab) and said "that is one of the things he loves best about me"
So I guess it's ok. Hmmmm still gotta mull that one over!
