Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Just hatched out 3 dellies yesterday.

Two are yellow, and one is almost pure white... does that mean anything?

OMG at the fuzzybutt cuteness

I do not think it really means anything. One of my girls (on the previous page pics of them both) was very light and the other was yellow. They change so much, I doubt you will see a real difference weeks from now.

Speckledhen has more experience than I so she may pop in with other and/or more information.

LOL you should have seen the ones I had to delete because they were so fuzzy...I was feeding them, taking pics single handed and Cannonball and Draco were after the camera strap and the lettuce. What a miracle it is that I got one good picture.

Those brats got lettuce, steamed brown rice (leftover from my lunch) and cooked green beans today. They thought they were in chicken heaven.

Cetawin, it does get to the point where you feel like you need an assistant camera man on the scene! Especially since ours have all gotten the idea we are a walking, talking treat machine.

I took scrambled egg, chopped broccoli, grapes and some spinach out there after I got them out there and established- stinker Ultrasuede will NOT come out until I leave- I can coax and coax and I just get the stink eye until my back is turned and I leave the run- then he hops out and joins the others.
BRAT.

I am going to post a couple of pics here just to get some opinions. I know it is too early to choose, but I just want to see how everyone thinks they are developing. Be honest. I think they are all gangly teenagers right now, but there are some combs that I hope you can see in the pictures.
And of course, one of Ultrasuede. Will post in a minute, forgot I have to upload. . . .silly me!

OK. I'm back. Ultrasuede first. He is camera shy and hides behind the girls a lot - he is vain enough to think that my only thought is to pick him up!

Thats exactly what I was thinking...If there is much of a size difference ultimately you'll wanna pick the bigger one. Do you have a picture of them facing you side by side so you can see how wide the two are. Thats a nice 5 point comb thats for sure! Where did your birds come from?

I screwed up, that roo with the Columbian hackles in the two headed pic is roo 4, and not a consideration. As you can see, he also has a dark beak.

That 5 pointer is a nice guy. What I need to do is get DH to take the pics while I hold them or keep them steady. I couldn't get a good shot of roo 1's comb- ( that was Buckshot, btw- if I get close to him, he wants on my arm or shoulder) They ALL move so dang fast! They do all have nice broad chests- I am waiting for the leggy look to fill out - I am being patient.

The hen in the last pic has Columbian hackles but I will keep her for eggs.
See all the smut? This is what I am waiting on- see if they will molt out.

Roo 3 is probably going to have 6 points, but he has the darkest tail barring. Some of the roos have black tail feathers, but they are molting out daily. I picked up roo 4 and three tail black tail feathers floated down-

There are three roos in consideration - Buckshot and two others. I have another roo with good form and markings, but he already has 7 points, and I don't think he will have a better body than the other three- actually those 4 are all pretty close in body type right now. The hens vary more.

YES! My dels came from Cynthia! And I am VERY excited if Ultrasuede resembles Suede at that age! Man, if I got a carbon copy of him, I would be in heaven!
