I guess my only excuse is misery loves company.

I've lived here all my life (actually grew up on the same farm my dad grew up on), but my grandma grew up in Kentucky. I want to move south, but hubby is not ready for that yet. I'll keep trying. I'm one of those people that does not like the extreme heat of cold. If I could find somewhere 40-80* year round with no tornado, hurricanes, mudslides, or forestfires I'd be there ASAP.

I don't ask for much do I!!!

Oh my, I'm so jealous! All the cute little fuzz butts. I'm picking up my new incubator next week. We just have not decided where to set it up yet. I'm thinking the "front" closet that does not get used all that much. I've had a lot of interest in my Dels locally. I think what everyone around here apprciates the most is what good layers mine have been all winter. Plus my enthusiasm might have something to do with it.

I will buy half the house and chicken yard with you ...if you find such a place. Preferring Cyn's stated temps

Actually, I like the Oregon temperatures but I hate the wet winters.

I finally recieved my last 2 pullets from Highspringschix with no help from the post office this morning.I now have a quad 1 roo and three very nice pullets. It took them three days to go from Florida to Georgia express mail. That is so crazy.Luckily she put in orange pieces to keep them hydrated. They were hungry and thirsty but now are full and settled in and doing great. These were from Bill Bradens line so now I have Cynthia's beautiful birds and Bill Bradens beautiful birds.I think for the time being I am going to keep the two lines seperated. At about what age have most everyones delawares started laying?

JamesA- thank heavens you got yours, too - the snow has not been THAT bad these last few days that it should take THAT long- especially express. I would complain loudly and at length to someone in charge! Or have Cetawin call, she has experience!

Uh, can we get a really BIG house and yard and split three ways? I moved here to get OUT of this crap.

Bassleg, those are adorable little peepers- you will have the best time!
