Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Beth, I'm crying tears right now for you and Tig. Big hug for your DH for helping you. I'm not a cat person, I can't be as a visit to my lap from the wrong cat can send me to the ER. (I have selective cat allergies, the right dander gets me bad, all the dander makes my allergies flare). However, everyone I love absolutely adores cats, and I can see the wonders they can bring into our lives. I love my dogs and with all the fencing we have here for our goats, the barbed wire etc... Let's just leave it at, I was sad enough I had to go bake some Gluten Free Betty Crocker Brownies.

Cyn, Please pass along my prayers to LadyHawk and keep us posted on her progress. I think I'll worry until I know she has pulled into her new driveway.

Kathy, I feel exactly the same way about this thread. Is there really a topic anymore? I know there is a common bond in Delawares.

BTW, I used the new Breed Selection tool, and it came up with 4 Breeds for me. Astralorp, Delaware, Java, and Orpinton. (It also included Production, but is that really a breed?)

I actually own 3 of those breeds and plan to breed 2 of them.

Oh, and do Suede's daughters rock too? Because I think I've got a Splash Hen. I've got to get a picture of her soon, she is starting to have some multi-colored feathering come in, and it's gorgeous because it's a combination of very dark and very light.

Suede's daughters are awesome, Laney. I have two of them myself. Delilah is a real wide load, a black. Glenda is Suede's with my Buff Brahma, slightly smaller than DeDe, but a sweetheart and good broody. Delilah went broody last year, too, but I didn't give her any eggs. She sat for over two weeks, steady.

Good morning, fellow Del-lovers.

It's dreary here in MI today, so I just wanted to share a little sunshine with everyone...my babies from last Tuesday's hatch:

Some Suede daughters are prissy diva chickens *ahem*

Yes, we are still here. Snow in the passes is holding us up...so I may be sleeping on the floor tonight if it does not clear. I have a few more things to do and load....break down the king size and load it, organzie the birds and load them and vacuum carpets and such. *sigh*

We will get on the road....sometime, I hope, soon, maybe ?????

Thor danced for Luna yesterday when he saw her....YAY!

Cannonball was not pleased with this behavior and keep pushing her way in front of Thor between he and Luna. Can a chicken be jealous?

So, still hanging in here all....I am getting more and more nervous and I am mentally wiped out. Time to be in Kentucky. Anyone have some Ruby slippers I can click together?

Check in later I hope

First, thank you ALL of you for your condolences on Tigger- I appreciate it. I lost Oreo in January, and now Tigger, and it HURTS! All I can say is thank heaven for friends here and for CHICKENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Laney, I hope those brownies were good!

Which brings me to

All right, Kathy! Finally!!!!!Eggs!!!!

Shelleyb- that picture belongs on the front of a Hallmark Easter card!!!How adorable!!!

Cetawin- Yes, I think a chicken can get jealous. It's a primitive, universal emotion. I used to have a mare that stared daggers at me through the bars of her stall if I groomed another horse outside her stall, and my gelding was well known for digging me the six foot hole if I rode anyone else.
Rest while you can, and maybe, if the Ruby Slippers don't work, we can't find a Star Trek transporter, we could quick make you a TARDIS.

Hugs to all of you this day-
