Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

I saw that article, too... my Marans roosters are rapists, but my Dorkings are perfect gentlemen. I love watching them dance.

My blue Orpington Bob is a gentleman too, which is a good thing because I think he's up to 12 pounds now. But the girls never have a feather out of place.

I have several breeds, and all of mine do the dance! The only bad roo I had (a rapist) was a hatchery RIR. He was so bad that he tore a hole in the neck of a pullet. He is looooong gone! All of my Marans are great, as well as my Dels.

Tim, click on my BYC page .... go to the very bottom, and read the story about my CM roo.

Well, roo rapists. Luke jumps the girls . Buckshot hasn't got it figured out, but he is grabbing hens by the feathers on their backs and looking confused. (I still think his eyesight is bad.) I saw Ultrasuede on top of his favorite hen this morning, but Luke bumped him off. I didn't see if he was dancing or not. I thought at first Luke would be a romancer, he walked around me a couple times a few weeks ago, with the wing thing and the look in his eye, but evidently he dropped the idea. My poor hens deserve wine and candlelight, but I am afraid they are not going to get it.

All my roos (Del, Java, Ameraucana, and Wyandotte) do the dance except for the one younger Del. I am thinking of adding him to my S&G Del pen to work on a meat project, but not sure. The free ranging girls like to hand out in front of my Ameraucana pen and preen for him. Poor boy. They are such teases!

Now for pics.

Here are a few of my 4/2 hatch

Ellen, those are adorable sweeties- love seeing them packed in the egg carton!

Beckymom3- where are you getting yours? And how many?

KATHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just taste tested the Del cockerel I put in the crock pot this morning. I did it! I did it! Actually, I am impressed. Very tender, lots of flavor, I am starting to think I could raise some meaties if I don't play with them when they are chicks. . . .

Beth - "you da (wo)man"!!!! I just can't bring myself to do it....that big, nasty, mean blue roo of mine would be great on the table I'm sure, just not sure I could do it. You definitely get my vote....more woman than I am man. Plus, whole chicken at Ingles is still pretty cheap, LOL
