OH!!!!! Just as I was uploading the pic she decided to finally get a bite to eat!!! PROGRESS!!!!!!! YAY!!! Kathy, you're good luck

She just knew it! Now you have to name her after me! She will be all about good luck!

Cindiloo- good luck with her- she is a sweet, chunky looking little thing!!

Kathy, you amaze me. You really think you'll be able to stop for the year?????

I wish I could come help everyone paint, I really enjoy it!!!

Beth, Nugget is still playing mind games with us. She sat for hours, then got off. She's acting completely broody except for staying put on the eggs. Here she is today--almost took my head off when I pointed the camera at her. And the second pic shows Sunny trying to get into that nest. Eventually, she gave up and left Nugget there. See? She has the "I'll peck your face off!" look.

Nugget is female ..... that gives her the right to change her mind (several times!), doesn't it?

Beth, Of course I can. Yes, I know I can, I know I can, I know I can!

Hatching day update:
Just finished with the RIR hatch from Pine Grove .... 100% hatch! YES ! ! ! I have waited on these special eggs for months, and I am soooooo happy! Have you ever seen his stock? To die for gorgeous! (Just ask and I will post a picture of them!

) Still working on the Rhodels. I left the room, with a pip from an Olive Egger, and when I came back (within 20 minutes) it was totally hatched! Every one of my Easter Egger eggs have hatched like that. I love the no waiting on them! I think I have about 8 Olive Eggers hatched out now; looks like 3 blues and the others are blacks.

OK, I knew you would want to see these luscious RIRs ... See why I am excited!

Oh my gosh, Kathy, NO YOU CAN'T- because your kids from those gorgeous, perfect, eye popping RIR will be old enough to give you eggs before the end of the year . . . . . .

Ah, those really are beautiful birds, I can see why you wanted some!

Nugget is certainly giving you some stink eye, Cyn. Tell her I will send her her very own can of mackerel if she'll get down to business!

Ultrasuede has the roo thing figured out. He and Luke spend all their time bumping each other off the hens and glaring.

Beth, it is the roses that I despise as well as the nicotine covered sage green walls....I could handle the green if it were remotely fresh clean paint. And my craft room...the lavender is okay but the dammmmmmed pink floral wallpaper border with little bunnies on it has gotta go!

Also, my property is fenced, sorta...a three rail wood fence is up...these chickens cross his backyard which is a couple of acres, climb the hill and cross my 2 acre field and come into the yard and barn. They are some day ranging birds for sure.

Cannonball has managed to get two small chips/peeled spots on her beak again plus her and Fattie are fighting now...both of them have ointment on their combs. *sigh* Mouthy Mouthy Delaware girls.

Kathy...I got a funny tingly sensation when I crossed into the Iowa border....I just thought my butt was going numb from the driving now I know it was Polly being nearby.

Thor, Athena, Fattie and Cannonball are outside right now enjoying the sunshine and grass....and digging a big hole in my flower bed. Happy girls.

Cyn, the lavender is pretty...it is about the shade that is here in my craft room aka bedroom #2. At least you have no pink bunnies border. Nugget looks as if she would eat you Cyn...be careful or reach in and smack her into full broody mode. Then run like wildfire!

Cyn. Mind games is it? Well she must have taught Misty too. She has clucked around here for three weeks and has not completely settled. Sounds and acts like a Broody. She has the screech down and the stink eye down. I thought sure she would settle and I could get some Del. eggs. I want to find out what makes them so special. I love friendly chicks and hens.

Scott I am not ready for chicks yet. Maybe in three or so weeks. I'll see how I am at that time. Mt hb checked out well, Thanks for the prayers.

Take care all. Gloria Jean

Gloria Jean, you PM'd me and I got busy and didn't answer! I'm sorry! Yes, they sometimes just do that halfway broody thing for weeks before they settle down. Once she starts spending nights on the nest, you can be pretty sure she's on her way at last.

Cetawin, I am getting a clearer picture- ack!!!! Yup, you need fresh paint and NO borders!!!!

Man, those chickens ARE far ranging. I think your best bet is to send for Delgirl, or at least her costume and SCARE them off the place- I am surprised nothing has gotten them if they range that far!

Fattie and Cannonball will make up, and everyone will be happy shortly- the sunshiney garden today will help sweeten their temperaments- I predict it, and I am only wrong 50% of the time!
