Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Good morning Dellie lovers!!! I hope all is well with you this weekend!!! We have a busy day today - we have to finish the run door today and the hubby is tilling the garden and doing other outside chores and I am going to be blissfully pregnant and do absolutely nothing!!! HA HA!!!

Kathy - Congrats on your hatch - you have some precious babies there!! Keep the pics coming!!!

Scott - Take care with those headaches - I know they can be very hard and make life miserable - I hope you can find some relief soon!!

Laney - I might try that headache remedy myself!!

Joletabey - My Del roo goes bonkers too when I first let him out and he really aggrevates the girls - he is becoming quite the pain and may be way too aggressive....

Cyn - I love that splash - what a beauty!!!

Quick Del question - How long should the roo legs be??? Norbit's seem awfully long and skinny and he seems to be limping a little and it almost appears that his legs can't support his body weight - I will get some pics today and post, but was not sure if this is a Del or rooster problem.....

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!!

Beth...you described Thor just as I see him. Luna however is the spotsy sort of splash. Most Splash depends on the parents. Some are black or shades and some are blue or shades. The splash really amaze me.... they are each so different. It is like a constant surprise. I admit, until Thor, I had not seen a splash roo that I liked. But I do like Thor's markings. Here are some comparisons for you...

Luna 4 weeks old:

Luna around 23 weeks

Now do you see why I am so fired up about breeding these two just to see what the babies will look like? hahahaha

Casca just got his butt handed to him a bit ago. One of the women was in the coop screaming for absolutely no reason....Thor started heading that way from the left side of the house and Casca started heading that way from the right side. Thor saw the dog and flared up and the dog dropped down with his butt in the air tail wagging and wanting to play....he got a face full of Thor who was not being playful. *sigh* I caught Casca halfway down the road and brought him back home and put him inside so Thor cannot "play" with him anymore.

I know now that I will lose Thor to either old age or a heart attack from beating up dogs.

He is gonna be the death of me...I know it. I will have a couple lavender orp pullets for him after next weekend. Well he won't have them for awhile yet but....LOL

Or Thor will live to a ripe old age, having become a legend in his own time to the KY dog population- mother dogs will tell tales to their pups and threaten that "Thor will get them" if they don't behave- neighbors will threaten their unruly pets with " I'll send you over to Thor's" , etc. What a great roo!
Thank you for the pics, Cetawin. I am glad I am seeing Thor as he is - I love that beautiful meld of the shades, but I love the more emphatic splash that Luna has, too. Those WILL be beautiful babies- mmm-mmm!!

Countrychickengirl- well, at least I am not the only one. I hope Luke is not going to turn into a jerk, I thought I had him out of that phase, at least with me. He is 28 weeks old- maybe he is just crabby because he isn't getting any?

Joletabey ~ Norbit is 17 weeks and I am ready to kill him!!! He is snappy and charges me and I know he wants to mate with the girls but they are too young at just 9 weeks so it is my theory that he is crabby because of that, but still.....ugh!! I am just trying really hard to tame him but if he keeps it up.................

No not Norbit!

I love Norbit, he is so adorable. Maybe he just wants the women give him a couple older woemn t amuse him until his girls are grown up.
