Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Mrs. AK, I am SO sorry that happened- mine are sweet girls, and outside of the normal pecking order stuff, no one is bothering anyone. At least not so far!!!

Cynthia, got water?

Thanks... it's weird, too, how (other than the turkey) they always seemed to go for my BBS Orpington teenagers...

Everyone was separated out last night, and I held my breath during morning rounds... all is well... *whew!* Now I'm nursing an Orp boy that had a nasty gash in his tail the same time as the turkey... I think I got him in time.....

Picture this ....

About 150 chickens running all over the place, here and there. (Lots of little roosters, mind you!) Youngest about 12 weeks old. Then, picture me ..... tearing my hair out and chasing chickens (slipping and sliding in mud and poop)!

Oh dear, yes, yes, yes, I love my grandsons. I love having them visit me, too. Three boys, ages 6, 7, and 8. They really are just trying to help (this I have to keep telling myself).... One little stinker opened up every single gait, and let all the chickens out of their pens. I can't even tell the RIRs from the Buckeyes, at this age. I have to pick up each one and look at the comb. I just came inside to take a break.

Thankfully, it is not raining (at the moment), but it is a slippery muddy stinkin mess.

Oh dear Kathy, that does not sound like a fun time! I fuss when 1, or 2 of my birds escapes the run and makes me chase them to go back inside, but 150! Sheesh!

Bless YOU, Grandma. They will forever remember chasing chickens with Grandma. Sorry LOL:lau Don't we love the Grands. Gloria Jean

Cynthia, well at least you will be disinfected?

Hope you can shower soon and get kids watered.

Kathy- guess you need kid proof locks on your runs!!!! LMBO!!! That is too funny!

Oh grammy are you having fun yet

At my house you would have to add 3 Jack Russel's trying to help not Just wiggle your nose and wave your wand and it will be

Oh, dear God, I know you would all just love to see pictures from today! ha, not happenin ! It has been real. yeah, that's it .... real.

Boy, oh boy, do those boys have energy. I do not. DD came over to visit. What a blessing.

No, Nana can not jump on the trampoline with you like Papa does. No, Nana can not wrestle with you like Papa does. No, Nana can not take you boating like Papa does (cuz she is scared of the water!) ..... On and on it goes .... Old age is just not what it's cracked up to be.

I'm sure glad Papa can still do all those things!

Whew, I am exhausted. Thankfully, so are they!

Bath time is finishing up now.

Cyn, Glad to hear you have water. I hope your flock is doing well. Makes ya wonder how they did all this back in the old days, doesn't it? Can you imagine not having water quickly accessable all the time? We have been having showers and thunderstorms, so I am sure it will get to you next week.

Cyn, so glad your water is back on. How miserable to be two days without it.

Kathy, I only hope to be a grandma like you some day. I think I will have a couple of years before that happens, but when it does, I have my role model. I think I would have been just a little frustrated at 150 chickens running around the yard, but alas, I know they are just the cute little grans.

It rained!!!!!! Last night we had a 2 hour rain. And this morning everything is a little greener, and the flowers have perked up considerably. Amazing what a little water does right Cyn?

I candled the eggs last night--6 are clear, took those out. I have 8 with significant dark sections and 4 still clearly moving in their little shells. One more week to go. Lock down on day 18 right? That would be Wednesday.

And one more question. Do your roos round up their girls by giving them bites on the neck? Check out my little post on my rooster Red.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
