Hope you are all surviving the summer weather with little problem. The past 2 days have been hot here, but with a little rain now and then. It has not been so bad ..... as last week!

I received some precious cargo in the mail today. Joy (justuschickens59) sent me the English Orp chicks I bought from her. They shipped well, and arrived in perfect condition. It took less then 24 hours to get here. I will get pictures in the near future. I am excited to have them.

My little angels went pen hopping today

they are just social butterflies..well pigs maybe they didn't think the CM's should have berries and buttermilk and they used mind control I forgot to chain the gate...I haven't named my CM roo yet but he called me told me I let those white heathens invade his house

he had his girls rounded up in the corner while the Dellies were scarfing up the goodies they were quite indignant about me scooping them up and herding them over to their pen because there was still goodies left

I think my CM roo is still upset he's just now learning how to herd his girls and they being the french girls that they are well he always looses the Golden Girl she has a mind of her own darn near as big as him and goes when she feels like it...

Things were much cooler than forecasters had predicted yesterday and we even got a light drizzling of rain to help cool things down even further. Today? I have no idea. They're saying slight chance of rain and scattered T-Storms later in the afternoon. Thank heavens for more normal temps and a slight lessening in the risk of wild fire.

Keeping all of you in the hot parts of the country in my thoughts and prayers!

Now, if you'll pardon me, I have a coop interior to pressure wash today! Ugh!!

I am soooooo tired of summer time. My birds have gotta be tired of it too. I have the soaker hose misting them already today

Just remember what y'all went through last winter......miserable, wasn't it? All that snow, rain, windstorms, flooding.... You aren't really ready to go back to that yet are you?? No thank you! Our spring was long, cold and wretched. Summer just got here about 2-3 weeks ago. I think I could handle this heat for just a while longer yet.....like until November!

We've been really, really hot since the first of June. And, August is usually our hottest month.....yikes!

Have had WAY too many days pushing 100F for my likes. I think I prefer the cold temps to this heat. I had NO, NONE, NADA, deaths as a result of the cold....too many due to the heat though.

September can't get here soon enough for me
