Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

That would be awesome and I bet you'd have some high bid auctions from those eggs! Isaac is such a sweet, friendly guy. He seems fairly attached to me and I just love having a rooster who will trot alongside me everywhere I go or will come running from anywhere he happens to be when I call. And he really loves his chest-rubs.

I think my roo is Isaac's nephew or something like that

I'm going to put a few eggs in later this week. Worst case scenario- I'll have more super friendly birds!

speckedhen, I've got two little cockerels that I hatched a few months ago from bargain. They are the friendliest and curious little buggers. They also love chest rubs. Must be a family trait. One of them is going to be the lord of my del hens.

That whole flock is for sale. I wanted one girl from the quad, but no

How many hens do you have? I really enjoy my Delawares, and find them very friendly, too. Thanks for sharing your picture with us!

As of now I don't have any Delaware hens but I have 2 Dominque hens and 1 Red Star hen. I found a breeder close by from this thread and hope she will be able to help.

The roo pictured, when I give them some scratch, he wants to get it out of my hand only!

Kim,
the best thing you can do is go on the Delaware club web site and find the Schilling illustrations and the description from the SOP and compare. I will pm you.

Actually, I purchased them yesterday, bargains quad. I will be hatching from them this spring, I saw the pullets and cockerels she had in the growout pen, and that cemented my want for thier parents! Once my bators are full, I can send you some eggs, for the cost of shiping! I just don't have the personal, hands on experience with the quads offspring, except for my younger trio from bargains eggs last fall, so I don't know how consistent or exact traits they throw....just wanted to put that out there, incase you were interested!

I also intend to put my Delaware Roo over these hens to see what that outcome is, so hopefully all goes well and he doesn't injure himself again!

Well, Isaac's family line just keeps on going! I'm happy that they are getting so popular now. Bargain's flock was fathered by Isaac when I had six hens with him. I'm not sure if she got any from someone else later, though. They are personality-plus, the whole bunch of them.

I have two chicks from bargain's eggs also. I was just about to order more when I saw her flock was for sale!

They are soooo friendly! PLEASE if you decide to sell hatching eggs from them put me on your list!!
I also have one chick from Highspringschix and that one is also personality plus! What great birds!
These two are from Bargain:

I got mine from Scott. (yardfullo'rocks) There was a girl, but I had racoons move huge slabs of stone and dig under one of my pens one night and lost her. It was soo sad- her and another NHR girl were just gone..... Such cute babies- he gave me them for free. For the love of Delawares

I'm becoming a bit jaded, and I've decided to stop doing business with certain people. When you see someone just cranking out the eggs and birds to make a quick buck, and then getting rid of them as soon as they aren't "popular" enough anymore- it does nothing for the breed. And you might as well call yourself a hatchery.

Scott's rooster, Pepper, is Ike's brother, as you probably know. They are just awesomely friendly birds.

Here is Tasha, daughter of my Ellie with Isaac, the last one I'll keep here. She has really good tail black for just 9 weeks old, I think.
