Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Although it is a bit early to tell everything, it looks like a good flock of Dels. I see you have no problem keeping yellow legs.

Thanks Walt. I am really pleased with them so far. This is my primary breed and the one I want to work with the most...so I am happy to hear I am starting with a pretty good flock!

Thank you. I think I got lucky with the 6 (1 died as a chick) so 5 Dels I got. They are by far my FAV!! I got them as chicks from a breeder.

They should be laying in the next month. I will be selling hatching eggs and chicks from them soon I hope. I think I may get to the point where I downsize my flocks to just the Dels, Speckled Sussex, and White Leghorns (simply because they lay really well). But I'm not telling the wife that just yet, cuz she'll be like why wait, do it now! LOL

Look good for 16 weeks. Have to love that "gangly" teen look to the roos at that age.. Now only if they didn't have that "gangly" teenage mindset...lol

In the second pic.. it could be the lighting. But could you post pics of the pullets alone, I'd like to see that shanks better if you don't mind.

They never do when you need or want them to, but then when you don't want them to that's when they decide "hey, i'm going to be stubborn and sit on eggs now!"

I'm right there with you... I just wish one or two of mine would commit and not just "think" about it. Mean as a snake in the box though, but they don't sit for more then a day or two, then they quit.

As soon as I figure out why my computer isn't playing nice with youtube. Hopefully I'll get to see your video.. I'm interested to see what they look like also.

When ever you get a chance is fine with me. I'm wondering... Are you seeing a difference in the shanks in the hens?.. lighter yellow vs darker yellow/orange in the pullets?.. That's why I said it could be the lighting in the photo.
