I have 10

2 Roosters and 1 hen will be 2 yrs. in Oct.
7 pullets from Ideal 5 mo. right at POL. Hopefully out of those 7 I'll have atleast couple of good type to pair up with my best boy for a breeding trio IDK?

Those Del boys are somewhat rambunctious (wound-up) so its no wonder they run a little warmer at times. You'd think they'd back off a bit, but no they are headstrong and go-get 'ers

thats for sure.

I may be selling eggs in the spring. Right now most of the girls are new layers and I'd prefer to wait til spring. Plus I don't just breed all the girls so it will be eggs from a few select hens. Perhaps three or four.

Take care,

Rancher

I should have said contact me in the spring of 2012, Good Lord willing.

We're really excited about this event as well, the Baker Creek people are fantastic and this sounds like a fun event. Walt, any chance of a meet-up? I'd love to meet you there.

Tim

1 Del roo, 4 Del hens, all from Privett; and a small flock of half-Dels, some of whom might even be full-Dels!

I will be judging that show, so I'll be easy to find. Just returned from showing at the Cali State Fair.

No, we're just planning to attend. I thought about bringing some chooks but then thought about the stress it would put on them, going from free-ranging in the fog to cages in the heat... and the risk of picking up disease... just not worth it to me. I'd fret the whole time, instead of having fun! Too bad, it would be fun to show off Rexx and Patch and WandaJean and the rest... though to be honest they would look like trailer-trash, what with the dirty, worn feathers, probably still molting, the hens have bare patches from Rexx's attentions, etc... And if Walt didn't like them I don't think I could take the rejection!

The first and mainly only thing I noticed was his legs need to be a bit more yellow, but that could very well change as he grows up. He does look nice and wide/broad though.

Just in case I forgot to tell you guys, my Dels started laying in the past two weeks and Farmer, the Del roo, is doing his job very well! LOL
