Good looking little feller, Here is some of his kin-folks, he is out of Bargins eggs, they are supposed to be out of your line Cindy, he will be 4 weeks
Yup, he's probably a grandson or great grandson of Isaac's. You sure know which ones are boys very early with these, don't you?
ETA: Folks who don't know Delawares sometimes think you have a mixed breed when they see all the "smut" they have as babies, but they don't realize that this breed undergoes many, many transformations in their plumage as they mature. You see how dark my little man's wings are already-that is pretty typical of Georgie's sons. I just hope he'll have good Delaware color because, often, Georgie's sons are just so dark in the hackles and tail. Her daughters are her strong suit, but she never produced many of those.
A few years of breeding and our girls are finally coming around. 3 Pullets from our stock were entered in the Central Florida Poultry Breeders Association Show November 5th, 2011. Two of the three placed. One got Reserve Breed and the other got Best of Breed, Best of Class and Reserve Champion. They were shown by Cheyenne Youngblood.
In this picture the bird to the far left got the Reserve Breed and the one to the far right got the other awards.
I've been lurking on this site since I have some hatchery Delaware x New Hampshires crosses whose dispositions are great and I'm using all your input and photos to develop my eye for confirmation. I am a psychic
......drum roll please...........I see Delawares in my future! Wow!!! How fantastic is that?!?!?
