Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Some lines yellow, corn or no corn-with some, it's genetic, seems like. Mine don't tend to do that. Isaac seemed like he was starting to a tiny bit just before his molt, but he's all nice and bright white again with his new feathers.

Your new girls look like they may just have some Georgia clay on them. Folks who don't live around here just don't realize what that does to a white bird, LOL!

Nice tail black, nice hackles on them.

X 2 all the way.... I have some birds that yellowed before they ever got their first piece of corn.
I have others that have always had corn and have yet to yellow and they are 25 weeks old.

x 2 on that doesn't look like yellow so much as clay because it is red twinged.

When Isaac finishes his molt, I'll take new pics of him. He'll be 3 in February. He had a bad fungal infection this summer and a couple of times, I thought I'd lose him. I noticed his breathing was too heavy the other day in the midst of all the ups and downs of the weather changes here so I hope I don't lose him this winter. After they've had pneumonia or a fungal infection, they tend to be affected more than usual by damp, cold weather, I'm told. Georgie is in heavy molt. Ellie, who hasn't laid an egg in maybe 8 months, and who I thought was dying from some reproductive malfunction (skeletally thin, shrunken comb, mass in her abdomen, etc), seems to be gaining weight and her color is better. Her abdomen feels normal, her tail black is growing back, too, so could be she'll lay again.
