Well that sucks. But I know the feeling. I'm continuing on with my Dels tho. Question for you and everyone else...what would be the main causes for yellowish tint to show up on adult rooster back feathers?

Ok Cindy here is my little man at 4 weeks & 4 days old:

Yours sure has more tail than mine does! My boy is being raised by a broody so he's getting so much running around/daily exercise, I don't think he can "chunk up" as fast as chicks who are just brooded by humans. It's almost always that way with broody-raised babies, seems to me. He is all over the place, getting a great education in finding food and avoiding predators.

Ok, I've got my Delaware flock going now. I've got two groups. I named my 2 roosters Lord Delaware and Del-Shannon. I accumalated my flock from vaious sources including bargain here on byc. I think I'm off to a good start, so I think I'm ready to show off my dellies now.
This is Lord Delaware

In that case, it would g the direct sun which is what my initial thought was. We have pretty much no shade at our place besides the shade inside the coops but we don't like them to b cooped 24/7.

SO cute! I love the little Del roos and their huge combs.
I am keeping my dels to a minimum as well. If I actually have a blue roo I am just going to keep a trio or quad at most, and probably won't hatch more than a dozen next year.

Several different breeders. I have a few hens from Bargain which came from Speckledhen. I also have a group from a breeder in Ohio, Jollyacres farm who had some award winning stock, also from a breeder in Texas whose name I can't remember right now. I've culled and kept the best roosters out of the bunch. Most of the hens look pretty good but I'm still working with them. I'm really hoping to get most of my flock up to standard and maybe enter them in some competitions next year.
