Show off your house ducks!

Look at that fluffy little body!! (Boy she grows fast!!!) I want to tickle that belly!!
Also - her pattern is just gorgeous! I can't wait to see her feathered out!!!

Well it's funny, her feathers are practically exploding out of her, and this morning I noticed something I didn't expect - a brown patch. We have a calico duck. xD

Contraindication in waterfowl? She and her siblings all have been eating baked potato since they were about 3 weeks old.

And none of them have ever had any tummy issues? I know baked potato isn't toxic like raw potato but I try to prevent Wobs from getting any 'cuz I'd feel so bad if he got an upset tummy or sour crop. ._. My mom feeds her dogs chocolate too, now that REALLY drives me up the wall!

Baked is fine - Raw is bad.

It's not the potato, it's the starch. Starchy foods carry a risk of gumming up a crop or intestinal tract. Not a huge deal, but I can't imagine a bird would enjoy having a case of bad gas! The salt in baked spuds or mash isn't great for 'em, either. :/

LOL yeah, I don't think those rules apply for ducks though. :p It's just so weird! When we got her she was blue and white, so to see a splotch of brown on her is totally unexpected. Who knows, her adult feathers may look completely different, but the ones coming in have given us quite a shock!

I'm a bad Mommy, lol, my fowl get all kinds of things that they probably shouldn't.... fries, mashers hamburger, etc.

They all especially like the various ethnic foods.
