zaz you are hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!! love them!!!!!!!!!!!!
so here's another question....
for my ib silver pied and ib pied..... do girls ever get color on their tales??? Houdini and George both have color on their long tale feathers now (will upload picts soon - none show it good tho.) Houdini has more than George. First time i noticed it today. hoping this will tell me what they are
ok here's the best i could do. All are 14 weeks old photos taken today.
George good shot of color on neck and how far on back it is.
George - got his/her tale but can't see the color at all - its there tho on the long tale feathers.
Houdini - you can see the color on his/her tale a little here, but there's alot more - on the colored long tale feathers.
Houdini full body shot - flight feathers on the other side are white see next pict.
Houdini again, good shot of how far the color is spreading on his/her back. really pretty blue the beautiful sunny day.
and Rose, gotta include my pretty girl no color on her at all, she's many different shades of brown
i love taking pictures of my babies do any of these picts help determine what houdini and george are?
Going to get our new pair the weekend of oct 12-14th. also making this our honey moon as we never had one and oct 16th is our 2 year anniversary. i'm so excited!!! can't wait to go!!!
Mmmaddie13 Looks like she's lost those creamy yellowish feathers now?She is showing a lot more of the opal pigment than her b/s moms are,,but the lite gray will soon be black flecks on tips of the feathers,,get pics now before she changes. heres my additions to the opal pen next year,a regular opal hen and an opal pied hen
And heres one of both of them behind the purple b/s hen, pied in front,,plain ole opal against the wall directly behind the Opal Pied hen
Yep the yellowish is disappearing slowly, as the grey will soon as well. They are beautiful, the little male looks so different from the girls! Amazing how the same color can look so different just because of the sex.
Randy is that a dark pied Opal? They're so pretty! I like plain Opal for the girls, but Opal B/S for the males. Something about that solid wing color!
Both my 1 yr old Opal hens are a lite gray color,,and I think the Pied girl is just a plain pied, she don't have any diffrence in color compared to the other one,,100% identical except for the throat patch.By adding these two girls to the pen next year I think(still no genetic guru) I should get Opal,Opal b/s pieds,Opal split to B/S,,Opal B/S,and Opal pieds. This of course counts the two Opal b/s hens now and Opie the Opal B/S Peacock.Right, wrong?
Autumnmfisher, stop by for a visit sometime,,about 3-4 BYC members have already.Admission is 2 bags microwave popcorn and a cheep loaf of white bread.Pea Palace is for real and soon to become a county landmark,,I think I'm one of one peafowl breeders in East-Central Illinois.
