Show off your Peas!

My birds have been jumping in their water a lot lately. One peahen will jump in there and different hen will run up and make her jump out so she can get in.

I have to give them fresh water a lot more frequently since they are getting so much sand in their water from getting in and out.

Sounds like they are hinting "Baby Pool"!

That barn is awesome! I would say you can be sure that if you have a convention at your place, I will definitely be in attendance, but really I am at the mercy of college. The UPA convention I think always starts on a Thursday, which would be just super difficult for me to do because I would have to miss probably half a week of school. My parents don't like me missing any day of school. I have had perfect attendance just about all my life. I certainly have envied those who get to take off of school for trips and having a cold, but I do see it as a double edged sword. Missing school means missing assignments and having to catch up, although now that I am getting into my major, graphic design, it might be easier to miss things since art classes are not as crazy as other classes like math.

I am sure the UPA people would get a kick out of your friendly peas. It would be a nice change to see a bunch of peas running around wild and free.
Minx it will be a few years before we are ready. seems like everything i try to do outside starts out great and then i get stopped by the rain, then the sun comes out and steams me like a pot of vegetables .

Surprisingly Colbolt is still holding on to his train feathers. I love this camera, got could picks of him in flight. Colbolt knows how to love the camera and pose.

Time to cool down from the nice hot dry weather by dipping the feet in my water.

Great pics!

My master P is the only one still holding on to his train all the rest of the boys have dropped theirs.

I was wondering if other people's birds were dropping trains. I hate seeing them shed although it is always fun collecting feathers. Is Master P your dominant peacock or the oldest peacock? I was starting to wonder if dominance was in connection to a peacock keeping his train longer since Alto looks as if he hasn't lost any train feathers. Frosty shed his train first because he is a spalding. The greens and spaldings shed their trains first then come the India Blue varieties.

Yea he is the boss bird, sired all the chicks again this year, the other males with the exception of Pie My pied male were so interested in fighting and fanning with each other they didn't even notice when the hens were watching, don't think they cared, silly boys look grown up with their big train but i guess just coming 3 their pea brains have not caught up with their feathers

Your boys really know how to fight. Alto fought with Frosty a bit but it was mainly a bunch of sizing up and not so much jump kicking. Peep doesn't know how to fight at all I feel pretty sorry for him. Eventually he will have his own pen with a blueberry bush inside. He loves blueberries so I am sure he will enjoy that pen. Frosty will be getting a pen with a smaller blueberry bush. Alto is going to stay in the current pen. I say he had first dibs on it since he was the first male in the current pen so I don't want to move his territory.
