it is a yellow crowned night heron, he was foraging in the woods after the rains and the peas spotted it.. they should be use to them by now but NO they got to go give them stray birds a hard time.. peas are very territoral.

I'm really speechless but my hamster cage is spinning very,very fast here.Perhaps a sip of blackberry merlot will sway the proper response from me shortly.Wylie sure didn't get his great looks and statue from Thang,,someone must have jumped the 8' high fence and broke thru the top net.

I've been calling the Thangette girls Thang 1 and Thang 2 haha. And Randy, you're in denial. ALL of Wylie's good looks came from his papa! He's a big boy, isn't he! I don't know if you can tell from the pictures but he towers over everybody! He also is very infatuated with himself, he displays every morning when the door to go outside is opened. He's got a bunch of character, and I know all of that came from the Thang himself.

Thangs main objective is to flee and hide or go bat-rap crazy when I come into their pen. I can't wait to catch him when I move them to the breeding pens and give him a good dusting of sevin and a drop of ivermectrin. That should get his stress levels sky high for sure!! Maybe I could get a close up of his beedy little pea eyes and head. I was so hoping another year of growth and maturity would help his poor manners and his looks would increase helping him rise on the Alpha Pea pecking order but my Midnight B/S Majik,,Roadtrip(BSSP) UPS(Bronze) Opie (OpalB/S) and Phoenician(Purple BSSP) as well as all my IB males have far prettier trains than Thang this spring. Proof will be in the forthcoming pics

I am going to visit mine today and sit with them a while, leave the cell phone at home and have some pea interaction. What great therapy!
