This isn't a pea, but it has something to do with my peafowl in a way... Here is the story:
There are many squirrels that live in the area and they all know that they can visit my peafowl pen to get an easy meal of sunflower seeds. Sometimes I like to sit in the aviary and watch the squirrels jump from tree to tree to get to the aviary and pick a spot to eat. Normally three or more show up. Well several years ago a neighbor found a baby squirrel that must have fallen out of the nest so they raised it, and it ended up being a white squirrel. There is something about the genes with the squirrels in our area because this is a reoccurring thing. I have seen a white squirrel around but only small glimpses of it. So one day I was sitting in the pen watching all of the squirrels while the peas were all preening and the white squirrel shows up entering the pen by jumping from a tree to my bamboo and then crawling down to the pen. It sat on one of the stumps and started eating the seeds. It was the closest I had been to it and I crawled slowly to it to get better photos with my phone, but they were not that good. I noticed that the other squirrels, instead of picking on this squirrel, seemed to be afraid to challenge it. Today I saw the white squirrel again and I didn't have my good camera yet again. So I have been wanting to get a good photo of it on my nice camera, but I never have my camera on me when I see it. Well I was just now organizing my photos and found a photo of it that I must have forgotten about and it was taken with my good camera. I want to get an even better photo of it close up. I hope it passes on its genes. I thought it was an albino because it has pink eyes, but someone told me that pink eyes do not always make something an albino...I thought it did. When it is up in the trees it blends in fairly well against the sky. I noticed it is just a bit more weary than the other squirrels.
