Show off your Peas!

Would someone like to start a new post about tethering a bird so we can get back to sharing our photos, hate to mess this up with all the nonsense

Of course, you are right, we can't ultimately control what an animal will or will not do.
However, can you really say that it is "the animal's choice what they do and how they do it" if a human puts the animal into a situation in which it has a strong probability of being injured?
It is 100% the human's choice to endanger the animal in this way. All anyone here is saying is, Why choose to put an animal in this kind of situation?

Which is why I said "We can control some things, but not everything". If a human puts the animal into a situation in which it has a strong probability of being injured, then that is solely their decision to put the animal there. It is then the animal's choice of how they react to the certain situation they are placed in. For example, if a human puts an animal in a situation they don't like, the animal can either A) Accept it or B) Fight it. The common choice is to fight it. But, really, they do have more than one choice. It is their decision which choice they choose.

Some people shouldn't own *any* animals. Don't even get me started on proper horsemanship, stabling, etc, you don't want to go there with me, lol. Let's just say that I've owned over 300 horses and never had one get injured while riding *or* while I was handling it.

And for that Kathy, I congratulate you.

Those horses were lucky to have you as their owner.

Then why are the people who run these poultry/livestock shows making people use them on birds they were never intended for? Birds of prey have much stronger legs than Peafowl, they use those talons to grab and hold onto prey, they are alot more muscular and are not going to become dislocated as quickly.
Bottom line is..Yes, accidents happen, and when they do we humans should learn from the mistakes we made and do things differently the next time shouldn't we? Not just keep repeating the same actions and suffering the same consequences. If You chain your dog out on your deck and it jumps over the railing and hangs itself, will YOU still chain your next dog out on your deck or will you learn from what happened the first time???? Yes animals can kill or injure themselves badly, but you do not have to help them do it.

No I wouldn't repeat it. I would learn my lesson. We're humans. We make mistakes and learn from them. Well, at least I do.

Annie loves them. That's nice!

Hurry! Pick up the train feathers before the next rainfall decides to show up! Don't want to lose any more!!

I know right, i been hunting between rain falls and got most of them, at least they are not all loosing them at the same time.
They like hanging out at the new place we are building so i found a good bit of feathers under the awning.

It's been real hot here in Idaho. At least for me it has (I'm one of those unfortunate people to get heat headaches). We've had some rain this week which cooled things off to the 70's & 80's but apparently it's going to be back in the 90's and possibly some 100's this week.

I've got a question. I have 2 BS hens split to white and I am getting a BS male split to white. Will the chicks be BS Or white or will I have 50-50?

Funny you should mention that... I know a person that did that and was in such a state of denial that she was convinced that a person had hung her dog, so of course she continued to keep her other dogs tied in the same way.

Happens on a regular basis in my backwards, idiot filled area. They also like to chain them in the back of their pickup trucks with just enough chain for them to jump over the side and hang themselves.

Often times I just do not like my fellow man very much.
