An interesting chick hatched this week, i thought it was white but then he/she start to look like a black shoulder, and it seems to be pied or silver pied.
It came from india blue w/e male split peach, and a silver pied hen, i'm thinking both are split black shoulder.

Another one hatched last week looked like this, and then start to get some color. And it was black shoulder.

Have any of you guys had peachicks that prefer to sleep standing up. The peachick I hatched out yesterday will stand under the light and drop it's head and wings but won't lay down. When I make sounds it usually wakes up. I have put my hand on it's back it will lay down but when I lift my hand it starts to lift it's body but leave it's wings and head in the ground. It's been eating, drinking, and preening. Is it just weird peachick that is tired or something wrong?

I hope since it's eating, drinking, and preening that it's nothing too serious and will just need sleep. The other two would be exhausted when they hatched out but didn't sleep standing up all the time. every now and then but not as long as this one. They took 24 hours while the new peachick did it in 8 hours.

Ugh!!! Trying to convince my dad to let me have a couple peachicks, but no they are too noisy. So instead he is getting a dozen guinea keets!!!!
