Cinnamon sugar, powdered strawberry jelly and the plain ones will be chocolate frosted with sprinkles or espresso powder.

I was given permission to pass this recipe on
Pickling recipe for beets/eggs

12 large eggs (2-3 wk old) hard boiled/peeled
8 medium fresh red beets
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 cups vinegar (we used apple cider vinegar)
3 cups water
2 tsp salt
2 tsp whole cloves
2 tsp whole allspice
2 cinnamon sticks
1 medium onion (quartered)

Combine and boil everything except the eggs, onion and beets.
Simmer for 10 min. Remove from heat and cool.

Boil the wash fresh beets for 15-20 min. Drain, peel and cut.
Arrange beets, onions and eggs in a jar then pour the set aside liquid in. Cover and cool.
Refrigerate for 2-3 wks before use for better flavor.

We sometimes add fresh garlic and green pepper.
