That sammy looks yummy! :drool Is it rye bread?
It is a Multigrain bread. Wheat base. I first heated the lunchmeat, on skillet. Placed the bread on top of lunchmeat to absorb the escaping vapors.:drool... Assemble, and toast both sides on skillet. Hot sandies are very common in our home.:)
I have to practice self control when I'm in the bakery. Like all things bread variety. I just made this sandie (now) with some black bread I have. Did not need to toast it, just slip some Swiss into center. It is similar to pumpernickel, but soft and slightly different taste/texture.
