Arugula on pizza??? :yaWhy have I never thought of that? Those cakes look amazing! When you say homemade do you mean a box mix or flour & sugar? Either way, I gotta know, what kind was it & what kind of filling's in the middle? :drool

The homemade cake came from DD. She asked, what kind of cake should she buy for the party ??? I suggested she bake one. She responded, "oh, thats great daddy,,,:)". When she came over with it we were all amazed at it. She made it from scratch, but she scours the Internet for different recipes. She has lil ones to help her out.:) I wonder if she lets them lick the raw cookie dough spoon,,,:gig
I will try to get her source of recipe when I see her. The filling was some delicious butter cream type concoction. The cake may be a combination of different recipes, one for cake, and other for filling. :idunnothat she combined to make as unit. The chocolate on surface is just melted chocolate. I think some butter is added to it so it shines.

I read this article today and it made me so angry! Why doesn't the government encourage people to learn to grow their own food? Wouldn't that help resolve some of the problems with food insecurity?

Because we're supposed to think for ourselves, and figure out our own solutions.

Probably many who are receivers of the SNAP program do not live where they could grow their own food, and don't know how, but what has been becoming popular in many cities is a community garden.

You don't need a large yard or giant lot to grow your own food. If you have room for A POTTED PLANT, you have room for Container Veggies. Some of our best crop has been yielded from small containers. They take up very little space and can be placed on your front porch, back porch or anywhere! Small & practical. Very rewarding needless to say. Far less the labor of planting in the ground and weeding constantly. We do both. Sow the earth and weed constantly/container plants and just water everyday.

So easy to make and very very tasty!

Got up this morning and put on my shoes.
Headed outside which was long over due.

Fed my piggies that were making loud sounds,
Then it went silent as the feed hit the ground.

The Goats were happy to see me come around.
As I brought the fresh hay, they tried to knock me down.

So I wiped my jeans of the dirt, mud and the poo.
But there was one more thing I forgot to do!

Across the distance I heard such a noise!
All the chickens were squawking, the girls & the boys!

The Birds were still locked in their houses that had closed doors, the first thing on my list, when I start my chores.

But today I forgot and fell out of routine.
And a few of the birds looked at me kinda mean.

As they bolted thru the doorways and flapped their wings,
Some of the roosters started to sing.

They sung the song that I know so well.
