SHOW OFF YOUR YUM! Food Photography Thread

Okay, he’s spoiled. Since Thursday morning, the dog has been demanding I go to the kitchen, and get him food. He is currently demanding pancakes.

It's good he can tell you what he wants. Frank leads me to the freezer when I ask what he wants...I open it and he rumages around until he finds the marrow bones.

Btw we LOVED the shrimp etouffee! I forgot pics

I'm not a fan of cooked tomatoes so I picked them out but hubs said that's a keeper recipe! Thanks for sharing.
I'm so happy you liked it. We have it fairly often around here. I think you could make it without tomatoes.

Probably but Igor likes them so it's no biggie. It was so easy! I followed your advice and only cooked half the shrimp, I can't stand it reheated, and I put the leftover sauce in the freezer for another batch later in the month.

That's exactly what I do. And yes, easy. My "go-to" last minute dish. There is always some shrimp in the freezer. Also, I have made this with leftover, already cooked chicken before and that was good too.

Will you tell me where the recipe is? I didn’t copy it because I don’t “do” fish and seafood. I do try it though. I know I eat crab on Fettuccine Alfredo, and in cream cheese wontons. Yada yada, I might like your dish, and I’m sorry I didn’t get the recipe the first time.

Not good at that. If that didn't work, I'll just repost the recipe.

You can also make it with chicken, but cook the chicken first. I've also made it with portabello mushrooms for some vegetarian friends. They loved it. It is such a delicious base, it's worth experimenting with different variations.

I love mushrooms and am more likely to have those on hand then shrimp. Thanks for the tip!

I feel like making vegan gumbo this week sometime. I'm the only one who will eat it but that's okay
I might actually like vegan gumbo. The thing I don't like about gumbo normally is the andouille sausage. That overwhelms every other flavor for me, and I don't like sausage much. What all do you put in vegan gumbo to replace the fish, chicken and sausage?
