SHOW OFF YOUR YUM! Food Photography Thread

Having lived in high humidity places (KS and FL) and now in a very dry climate (WY), I get what you're saying perfectly!
We are N-Fl. So association with the misconceptions of us being Miami like weather are myths.
We had a solid week of 20*'s this winter. A wet one at that. Flooded pig areas had skins of ice on them for a few mornings. Some of my chicken's combs rotted on the tips. After the rain, the pad lock on our property gate had to be heated up with a Bic lighter 4 days in a row so we could leave.
We get icy cold but the days warm up pretty quick. 24* in the morning but 50's during the days. It's that rain that is the only pain in the keester, just before freezes.

Anyone that is new to this thread, we recently had a little fun competition and just completed the entry portion of the contest.
We would appreciated if you could visit that particular thread and cast a vote or two on some of the beautiful and delicious entries that some of our fellow BYCers worked so hard on.
Thank you in advance.

Lunch on the "fly".
  • Canned Tuna.
  • Mayo.
  • Minced white Onion.
  • Relish.
  • Minced Jalapeno slice.
  • Sea salt.
  • Black peppercorn.
  • White/wheat Bread.
Instructions:
  1. Open Tuna very very quietly. Don't let Spikey the Cat hear the can opener.
  2. Drain out all of the spring water in the can very carefully not to let the aroma of the Tuna to be released through-out your dwelling.
  3. Take the Tuna out of the can in a quite and private location. Place contents in a medium sized bowl.
  4. If you are like me and got BUSTED! You could probably use a smaller mixing bowl now because the constant meowing mooching sound has made you cave, and you have shared a portion of you tuna with your kitty.
  5. Mix all of the above ingredients together (in a smaller bowl) as fast as you can! Slam down your Sandwich like Micheal Jordan in a graceful swinging swoosh! Before your cat gets done with his portion and is all in your face again wanting your portion!

Yesterday I tried to make a spinach & white bean soup. I soaked the beans overnight, I cooked them all day & lo & behold they were still hard at dinner time. I had to scramble to pull something else out of the hat & didn't get everybody fed till right before bed. :barnie
I'm no stranger to dried beans, yet I have no idea what I did wrong. Maybe they needed a little baking soda like the garbonzos do? I threw it all into the fridge & I'm not sure what to do now. Blend it into a cream of white bean soup?

I’ve had that happen too. Don’t know how it happened.
