Duckling has broken a lot of dishes by “helping” me. She tried to put them in the sink, and they hit the bottom hard. Actually, she managed to break a bowl on the carpet a few weeks ago. A balloon hit it, and it just broke. So, Corelle it is!

It is actually good to let little ones use real dishes and silverware. It teaches them to be more careful ... eventually.

Now to see what I get. It might be my kitchen, but when someone offers to buy service for eight as a gift, you take it. Actually, I was offered twelve. That is a bit much. I want other things too!

I thought I wanted red dishes. When I was told to pick out exact patterns, I really didn’t see what I was looking for.
Duckling wants this. I kinda agree. It’s cheap, but that’s okay. I might decide to buy a set. She is only three. She only uses the dessert forks.

And @cavemanrich has the set I had before I met my Caveman. It makes me nostalgic for the days of my youth and happiness.

That is probably fiestaware. Maybe in the breaking stage stick with corelle.
Edited because I saw her reply. I guess it is not fiestaware.

Also, the other set is what my mil has. She has had it for as long as I have known her (26yrs and counting). As far as I know corelle is still made in the US if that matters.

My dishwasher breaks a lot of dishes, and lots and lots of glasses. Bought something the other day that said "dishwasher safe", I said want to bet, she laughed.
