Vanessa Williams was the MC. She had just won Miss America. Later in the show, I was scolded, and kept out of the rest of the show because I’d gotten a case of the giggles. I was in the paper twice the next day. Once for giggling, and once with Ms. Williams. My best friend was African American, and it was unheard of back then.

A lot of people only get their names in the paper twice...once when they're born and then when they die. So you're already ahead of the game!

I can’t find the pictures of old piñatas, but I did find old pictures. Some of my late b-i-l. I will have to give them to my sister. I’m apparently not doing anything with them.

Ok.. meatballs made, browned and simmering in sauce.. so I have a few minutes to sit and chat again..

I made sloppy joes, this will feed us for a couple days. Sauce is not from a can. I used homemade chili pwd that I put smoked paprika in, adds a nice flavor to it.
