Avocado on sourdough for me. The sourdough is from the store. I’ve never tried to make it before. I’m not sure how it would do in a warm climate & I wonder if it makes the kitchen smell like yeast. Do any of you sourdough adventurists know?

I love avocado toast. My mom tried to make sourdough and she waited a little to long to feed it and it didnt work, but other people have made it successfully and the kitchen didn’t smell like yeast

It is best to get a start from a sourdough culture that is already started.

I send starts to those that want it. If you want one, send me a message with an address to send it too. It is free!

It depends on the day, but it’s typically light if there’s any scent.

Sourdough smells a bit sour but like abbi said, you have to be fairly close to it to smell it.

Sourdough is kept in the fridge most of the time and comes out when you use it. It does fine in warm places. My house is fairly warm here in the summer and that helps the sponge and bread rise very nicely

Thanks! I know you do & I've considered asking you many times. My knowledge on the care & keeping of sourdough starter is zero & I've always been afraid I'd get it here & kill it.
