Looks delicious Penny. I bought sausage to mix with beef for the next batch of meatballs I make since you've said you guys like them that way. I've never made them that way before.
The recipe I have uses both italian sausage and ground beef. I have been using jimmy dean italian sausage

Italian Meatballs

1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground Italian sausage
1/2 finely diced onion, sautéed in olive oil
Grated Parmesan cheese (maybe 1/2 cup)
Panko bread crumbs (maybe 1/3 cup)
Garlic powder(maybe 1/2 tsp)
Oregano(1 to 2 tsp)
Basil(1/2 to 1 tsp
Red pepper flakes(maybe 1/4 tsp)
Salt(about half a tsp)
1 egg

Mixed all that together. Used my larger cookie scoop to ball up the meat in equal portions. Brown the meatballs in the skillet I sautéed the onions in.
Put them on a foil lined baking sheet and baked at 375* until cooked all the way through (probably about 25 minutes).

That's pretty much how I make the Italian meatballs here too (and use the eyeball method of measuring :D ). I use whichever Italian sausage is on sale, they all seem to work well.

It's really nice to have meatballs in the freezer to whip up a quick meal.

My recipe is similar but no stove top cooking, thanks.

You do not brown them first and then bake them?

There must be a different in the time in the oven and or temperature

I browned them and then simmered them in the sauce for 30 minutes. That is what Joe said to do on Master Chef

No, I mix up a big batch and bake them in the muffin thing, then freeze for meals. Reheat by simmering in the sauce when we have spaghetti or sandwiches.
