I incubate in a Hova 1588 and I hatch in a LG forced air. I've had really good results doing it this way. I do a lot of staggered hatches so this works well for me.

I was wondering if any of the showgirl people on BYC plan to show at the Newnan Ga show on the 19th of this month. I would love to take mine, but don't want to drag them out if noone else will be showing.
I have a question since I am new to the world of SG/Silkies. Out of the eight babies I just hatched, I got 4 SG and 4 Silkies. One of the silkies has a vaulted head. What does that mean? I know she looks different but I don't know if that is a desired trait or what it means as she grows.

It depends on who you ask...some people like it, others do not, and some are impartial. I am in the middle. Huge vaults to me are not desierable as they are much more prone to brain damage. But I select on type not just if they are vaulted or not. I have seen just as big/nice crests on non-vaulted birds as I have on ones with vaults. A little vault on a chick sure is cute though!
