I would get ready to add some moisture (sterile damp rag?)- open the inc - remove the bad egg. Not sure if the shrink wrapper could finish in the brooder to minimise time with the inc open - especially if he's nearly dry? He might just need time to rest...

Thank you! Going to go do that now, but I’m going to get the humidity up to around 80% so after I take out the babies, it should be about 60%.

One chick is out, the other is zipping. I’m going to get another incubator going to put the newly hatched chicks and shrink wrapped chick in. The others are good to go to the brooder.
Also, just noticed that we had a five-toed chick hatch. I’m guessing it’s a Dorking!

Could be a possibility! We have a silkie rooster that may have mated with a different hen, but our silkie eggs are all under a broody hen right now.
Silkie babies are just too cute!
Second baby had also just hatched. Time to put the plan in action!

Taking the chicks out now. Shrink wrapper is not ok! Can not stand on his legs, and one foot is completely curled.
He simply cannot sit. The others are doing fine. Here’s a picture:

How about a bit of sugar water and dipping the beak gently? Maybe some electrolytes?

Today is day 23. I have 17 eggs that have still not hatched, and only one has a pip. There is no cheeping from that egg and it’s been over 24 hours, so I don’t know what’s up.
This hatch has resulted in some beautiful babies, but also some struggles along the way. I’m going to try to do some eggtopsys later, as I’m sure there will be some. Right now, the humidity is at 68%, and I honestly think there is no rotten egg. After opening and closing the incubator 4 times, the smell has wafted out and there is a small stench, not NEARLY as bad as before. It’s also not permeating the room. I suspect thats from some fluid from the chick that passed after hatching- which I think may have succumbed to Omphalitis. The shrink wrapped chick also has a weird smell to it. It’s not rotten or anything like that, and it may be due to the towel paper, water, and coconut oil. Overall, hoping for some more chicks but I’m gonna give it a few hours for that one pipper before I go in and see what’s going on.
About 30 chicks hatched with no issues, which is very exciting! The next round is going to be chicken eggs, duck eggs, goose eggs, quails, and Guineas! (Separately of course)

It’s not just that he cannot sit, he cannot get his feet under him at all. He would rather lie on his side, and his body seems a bit uncoordinated. I have placed him in a separate incubator, in the same plastic box, with new tissue paper. I also put tissue paper on his side to keep him up. I’m also going to use tape to straighten out his toes on one foot. I put a mirror in the incubator with him, and the temp is at 97.5.

A quick update. The chick is now able to stand! We are taking small steps and using sugar water as the treat. I’m planning to introduce food today. One leg is good but the other seems stiff, and the chick just sits on that leg while walking. I have used tape to straighten out the toes, but it’s like the top part of its foot is inflamed. When should I move it to the brooder? Right now he’s in an incubator at 97-98 degrees. Obviously he would seperated in the brooder, but right now just walking seems like a big challenge.
