Shrink wrapped ?

Did it pip externally on its own?
@WVduckchick hatches in a bator I’d like for her to help.
He
He need some help he was trying to make his way out with his beak but he was getting weak so i made a tiny hole for him to get some air and that seemed to have helped so i left him for a while when i checked again he didnt progress so i had a feeling he was stuck so i gently peeled and hes been in same position all day.
was peeping a lot this morning and seemed to have more energy

So a little update. I decided to peel a bit more of the outer shell and applied coconut oil with qtip . i think just doing that helps him move more 👍

Put some oil on the membrane and if you don't see any veins, which for sure will show up with the oil. If there aren't any veins in the way carefully cut some of that membrane so it has a better chance to start moving a bit more. If there already is a little hole in the membrane you could put a slim smooth instrument (maybe tweezers?)under the membrane and use that to protect the chick while you slowly cut. If you don't get what I mean just ask. It's a surgery thing. That may be enough to loosen him up to finally hatch.

Any update? New pic?
Sorry I missed this tag last night.

Just for reference, the original pic is normal and not shrink wrapped. The membrane will always appear dry. Coconut oil or Vaseline are good choices. The last pic to me looked like good progress. I hope it has hatched by now. :fl
