We ordered 29 (20 cornish x, 9 mixed breeds) birds from a hatchery. This was not our first rodeo, however it was our first time ordering from this particular hatchery. When it was shipped 2 of our chicks were pretty much dead. After another 12 hours 4 more passed away. The next day one more passed away. That night we noticed one was looking rather ill. The next morning she was still alive. After work she was alive. That night before going to bed she was alive. We went one day with no birds passing away. Then last night we lost two more chicks. The one chick that was looking sick however, is still alive (separated). We noticed today that she has a growth on her neck. We are very disappointed that we have lost 8 birds so far and sick chick will most likely be a ninth. It is becoming to a point of not a matter of if a bird will die, but how many? I am not recommending this hatchery to any friends, we have been very disappointed in the health of these babies. I am attaching a photo and if someone knows what is going on with sick chick would make us feel better. I am also going to send this photo to the hatchery to let them know their birds are diseased and ill.
