Sick chicken semi-recovering but still watery poop

Thank you- I feed them the same feed but haven’t tried fermenting.

So- good news!! she seems to have recovered, got her 10 day dose, and is almost back to her original perky self! She has yet to start laying again though.

Just a question to you pros about my other 3 chickens- I want to deworm them before putting her back in so she doesn’t get re-infected. What would you suggest covering the run with so no parasite eggs are left over? It is just dirt now, should I cover it with construction sand?

Probably depends on your climate.
I think @dawg53 does use sand in his runs to help with worms, but he also deworms his flock on a regular basis.

Glad to hear she's doing better!

Hello helpful people,

Just wanted to check in again for your opinion because my chicken was recovering nicely, I dewormed her sisters and then moved her back in with them. She has never started laying, however, and stayed pretty skinny although her feathers have come back nicely. Just yesterday I noticed some watery poop again and she was up in the roost.. I’m wondering if I should try to do more deworming doses for her- I have enough left over from the vet. Her last 10 day dose was September 10th. Is this too rough on an already sick chicken? I can ask the vet to do another fecal float but they always charge a lot of money for additional services and may be too slow for her.

Thanks again for all your great advice.
