Sick goose

The goose bill is still a concern. I am sure it would heal faster, if it got a rest! Late afternoon I put her next to the fence with the others. They all checked her out for a while. Absolutely no threatening gestures. Looked promising.

Goose did not care for the apple cider vinegar in her water. Did one dip and shook her head a lot. So back to plain water with some lettuce floating.

Yeah, vet had a large bottle of antiseptic handy for the scratches. I definitely prefer the mats over towels.

The goose nest got even bigger. Ganders do not like for me to go in and check out the nest. No hen sitting yet...
Sounds good, clodhoppers. Really, don´t worry at all about getting her back in...it´s not as if it´s a gander that´s lost his perch! Did the vet say what he thinks is wrong with her bill? Does he think it´s related to the legs, ie niacin deficiency? Sounds like you may have to give her extra niacin regularly through her life, if she has a tendency for a problem like this...what did the vet say?

That's something mine would probably take a bath in ACV and water if i put it in their bath water, they don't mind it at all but I'm sure it's an acquired taste I've been using it in my flock for about 4 yrs. Mostly as a tonic.

Glad to hear they were tolerant of her.

Miss Lydai do you use just regular Apple cider vinegar from the store or a special one? Plus where do you purchase it from????

I buy from Vita Cost on line RURU, it's there 32 oz with mother in it. about 2.00 cheaper than Braggs. also there is Heinz with mother in the grocery stores too.

Thank you Miss Lydia. I have Heinz ACV, but what is mother???
It's not pasterized ACV the mother is what comes from not going through the pasterization process it still has all the good stuff in it, if you take your bottle and shake it real good you can see the mother floating around in it.

Thank you for the information on mother. I went and shook the vinegar I have and did not have real good lighting but did not look like there was mother in it. So will have to get some with mother in it...
What is the dosage in he water bucket???
